ASUS ROG Game Smartphone Going to US
At the COMPUTEX 2018 show in early June, Asus introduced the ROG Gaming Phone, which is now about to land in the US market. The ASUS ROG gaming smartphone is on the Asus America’s official website, but there is no information concerning the price tag.
The ASUS ROG gaming smartphone uses a 6.0-inch 18:9 AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a DCI-P3 color gamut support. There is also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with a CPU clock speed of 2.96GHz. The SoC is paired with an 8GB of memory, a 128GB/512GB storage, and capacity 4000mAh battery.
As for the camera, the ASUS ROG game smartphone sports a 12MP +16MP dual-camera on the back, where the main lens is the Sony IMX363. The latter has a unit pixel area of 1.4μm and support dual PD dual-focus. In addition, the phone is packed with an 8MP camera.
As a flagship for players, the ASUS ROG game smartphone is specially optimized for heat dissipation. According to the official introduction, the phone is equipped with a ‘Gamecool 3D average temperature plate cooling system.’ There is a large piece of hollow heat sink metal plate inside that contains liquid.
When the cell phone component starts to generate heat, the liquid in the heat sink will absorb it and become a gas. Then it will spread the gas to other areas of the heat sink and the metal back cover to achieve the effect of heat exchange and average emission. The principle is similar to the heat pipe. But it was changed to a flat surface, allowing a larger thermal area.
