This is the very first dash camera I have tested and you can find it between $44-80 USD.
The AZDome AZ305 is a cheap dash cam for your money, and it comes with a couple of accessories to mount to the dash of your car and an incredibly long power cable so you can route the cables underneath the panels of your car for a more hidden installation.
The dashcam itself is made of plastic and feels OK quality, however, the mounting hardware is a little flimsy and could break if you force it too hard.
Probably the most important factor in a dashcam is the video quality, and to that it is average for a 1080p camera. It is hard to make out license plates when the car isn’t right in front of you but the dashcam does capture OK quality and colour saturation. It breaks up the video files into approximately 238MB files to make it manageable.
The mic picks up significant background noise from the car itself, however you can hear a conversation if there is one going on in the car.
The AZDome A305 gets the job done when it comes to dashcams, albeit not in the best way possible. If you can find it for $55 sure, but I’m quite certain its not worth $80.
