Fitbit Charge 3 With Enhanced Features Officially Announced

Previously, we knew Fitbit’s new product, namely the Fitbit Charge 3 is coming and learned most of its features. So we can say there have been no secrets. Just yesterday, Fitbit officially announced the launch of the new Charge 3 series.

As we can see, the Fitbit Charge 3 comes with a similar look to the previous generation Charge 2. At the same time, the Charge 3 features a new aluminum body and a touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display supports grayscale color and the screen area is 40% larger than the Charge 2.

The Fitbit Charge 3 has a water resistance of up to 50 meters. So you can swim and take a bath without taking it off. By the way, this for the first time for the Charge series. In addition to the motion tracking features already available in previous products, the Charge 3 also offers a swim tracking function. Our protagonist has also upgraded the heart rate sensor for more accurate heart rate detection and added a SpO2 (oxygen saturation) sensor.

The physical buttons on the previous generation Charge 2 have also been replaced by the new ‘sensing’ button. Fitbit claims that changes to the button shape can help to save space inside the device and get more battery capacity and better waterproof performance. Fitbit also claims that the Charge 3 can provide up to 7 days of battery life with a single charge.

But unfortunately, the Fitbit Charge 3 is still not equipped with GPS function. Fitbit official said that this is due to the trade-off between design, price and battery life.

There are a few eye-catching upgrades. Say, this model will sport a complete touchscreen interface. Unlike the previous models’ tap screen, the Charge 3 will be able to perform certain functions such as Quick Reply. The latter allows you to send quick messages back when someone texts or calls you.
