Honor 8X Announced At A Starting Price Tag of 1399 Yuan

On September 5, Honor held a press conference and officially released two models of the Honor 8X and Honor 8X MAX. The former model is packed with a Kirin 710 processor, the ‘scary technology’ of GPU Turbo, and is priced at starting 1399 yuan ($205).

The Honor 8X is equipped with a 6.5-inch multi-function full-screen, which is officially called ‘pearl screen.’ According to Honor, it occupies up to 91% of the front panel. Its resolution is 2340 x 1080 and it comes with a narrow frame design, using COF package.

At the same time, the Honor 8X adopts a double-sided 2.5D glass + metal middle frame sandwich structure. The back adopts an aurora double texture design. So under the light, the left and right sides of the back will show different reflections. There are various color options including the magic night black, charm sea blue, charm red, and dream purple.

As for the configuration, the Honor 8X is equipped with the Kirin 710 processor. The latter uses four A73 (2.2GHz) and four A53 CPU cores (1.7GHz). Compared with the Kirin 659, the performance of the single core is increased by 75% and the performance of the multicore is increased by 68%. The memory is available in 4/6GB and the storage is available in 64/128GB variants.

The Honor 8X is also equipped with a rear 20MP + 2MP dual-camera, which support AIS handheld super night scene anti-shake option and super slow motion. The front camera comes with a 16MP single sensor, supporting AI mode, which can automatically identify the scene to optimize the imaging effect. It also supports AI noise reduction, AI call enhancement, AI elevator mode, AI high-speed rail mode, and AI anti-counterfeiting base station.

There is also a 3750mAh battery, face recognition + rear fingerprint recognition, independent three-card slot, and a maximum expandable 100GB microSD card slot.

It is worth mentioning that the Honor 8X eye protection mode has also received the low blue light certification + photobiosafety certification given by the German TÜV Rheinland Group. Honor is also the first phone manufacturer in China to obtain TÜV certification.

As for the price, the Honor 8X is divided into three versions, the 4+64GB version is priced at 1399 yuan, the 6+64GB version is priced at 1599 yuan, and the 6+128GB version is priced at 1999 yuan. It will go on sale on September 11.
