How to use a telescopic len with your mobile for better pictures

Recently I bought a telescopic len for my Xiaomi Note Pro, in order to see and test how can I take better pictures from an object that is really far away. For that reason I found and bought a telescopic len – 8X Zoom Mobile Phone Telescope, from Geekbuying. The len is very cheap, only 7.59$,  so you can test it yourself at minimal cost.

The package came to me very well protected. Inside the box you can find a clip, a cleaner for the len and a second box, in which inside a plastic bag is the len itself.

Removing the len from the plastic bag, we can see it more clearly. It has a protective lead on each side and there are some numbers on it. The numbers shows at which distance we are looking with the len through your mobile.

As you can see in the photos, the numbers start from 3m and reaches 40m and beyond.

Setting the len on the mobile is very easy as you can see and in the video below. After removing the back led, we screw the clip. After that all we have to do is to set the whole construction on our mobile.

ATTENTION! It would be better to place the clip looking horizontally and not vertical , as shown in the video. What I noticed, was that when I placed it for the first time the len with the clip vertical, to mobile couldn’t focus. At least this is what happened to my Mi Note Pro.

Taking a picture is very simple. In the video if you watch, you will see that everything is set in automatic in my mobiles camera app. By turning the black ring showing on the len, you can focus at what you want to take picture of. Below I have set 2 pictures. One is with the len and the second is the same shoot, without the len, to see the difference in the distance. It would be good to have stabilized the mobile on some kind of tripod, to have more stable shots. Since we are talking for a big distance, even the slightest move can ruin you shoot.

Conclusion

If you are up to taking pictures, specially from a long distance, the use of a such len is a must. The price is minimal, the len is small, so it’s easy to buy and carry.
