Huami Announced AMAZFIT Wearables and Huangshan No. 1 Chip

Today, Xiaomi’s eco-chain company held a new product launch conference and announced three new products. First, it uncovered the world’s first smart wearable AI chip in face of the Huangshan No. 1. Later, Huami unleashed the AMAZFIT Smartwatch and the AMAZFIT Mi Health Band 1S.

The company said they want to avoid the homogenization of the wearable industry and bring new core values to users. So they took on the responsibility of changing and leading the industry. Not accidentally, the Huangshan No. 1 is considered to be the world’s first wearable processor integrated with AI neural network. It adopts four core AI engines, including the cardiac biometrics engine, ECG, ECG Pro, and heart rhythm abnormality monitoring engine.

Moreover, this is the world’s first RISC-V open source instruction set wearable processor, which has three characteristics: AI drive, lightning performance, and low power consumption. The Huangshan No. 1 adopts the ‘Always on’ technology, which is different from the traditional AI and realizes the forward movement of the AI from the cloud to the end. This simply means all the calculations are done at the hardware level and there is no need to transmit them from clouds to the end device. This helps the chip to perform 38% more efficiently than the Arm Cortex-M4 architecture processor.

At the same time, the Huangshan No. 1 integrates an ultra-low power sensor data collection module, which automatically transfers sensor data to internal SRAM, making data storage performance faster and more stable.

The ‘Huangshan No. 1’ will be officially applied to the new wearable products of Huami in the first half of 2019.

At the event, the company also released its third smartwatch in face of the AMAZFIT Smartwatch (aka AMAZFIT 3) It sports a round dial design, but the biggest highlight is the ability to support multi-function NFC, all-day heart rate monitoring, and abnormal heart rate alarms.

As you guess, the multi-function NFC allows the AMAZFIT smartwatch to support traffic card function in 165 cities in China, covering more than 20,000 public transport routes. In addition, the watch will support the access card simulation function, and it is expected to support NFC UnionPay card starting from November.

The Huami AMAZFIT smartwatch features a 1.3-inch high-definition AMOLED screen with a resolution of 360×360. There are also built-in 13 dials, including three dials designed in collaboration with Territory studio based in San Francisco. The later supports user-made dials.

The AMAZFIT smartwatch adopts the Cleaning wristband manufacturing process, which takes 3 years and millions of research and development investment. It adopts a silica gel molecular phase control technology, which is soft and dry and resistant to dirt. It solves the problem of the ordinary watchbands.

According to the official data, the AMAZFIT smartwatch supports 11 sports modes and GPS+GLONASS dual-positioning. Moreover, it adopts a new generation of high-precision optical sensor independently designed and developed by Huami. Its accuracy is increased to 98%, while the power consumption is reduced by 80%. Like all the latest products from this niche, the AMAZFIT Smartwatch supports heart rate monitoring and abnormal exercise heart rate alarm.

This is also the first smartwatch of Huami coming with the Xiao Ai voice assistant. Thus, you can control Mijia smart home appliances through this watch. It can be done for 11 types of smart home products and implement operations such as turning on the smart cleaners, switching lights, and so on.

The AMAZFIT smartwatch is priced at 799 yuan ($116).

Finally, Huami announced the AMAZFIT MI Health Band 1S, which is the upgraded version of the original model launched back in April 2017. It costs 699 yuan ($102).

The AMAZFIT Mi Health Band 1S uses a black wristband with a pure black screen. At the same time, it uses an anti-lost wristband buckle with an elastic skin-friendly wristband that is familiar to us from the previous generation.

As the company said, after the release of the 1st generation of the health bracelets, the cloud platform collected more than 5 million ECG data, and the symptoms of atrial fibrillation confirmed by doctors exceeded 14,000. On the basis of retaining the classic ECG chip, the AMAZFIT Mi Health Band 1S uses Huami’s new generation of high-precision optical sensors, the accuracy of which is increased to 98%. Plus, this product comes with an upgraded new AI neural network, which is in an active monitoring (7×24 hours) of users’ heart rate.

It is worth mentioning that the AMAZFIT Mi Health Band 1S provides data to the Mi moving health app, which includes online doctor consultation, health weekly report, healthy living habits reminders, etc.

Huami stressed that the company pays attention to data privacy protection and passed the European General Data Protection Regulations GDPR.
