Huawei Honor 10 With 100% Full-Screen To Launch On May 15

We have been thinking the VIVO APEX will be the first true full-screen smartphone around the globe. But it’s a concept phone, and there is no certain date set for the release. This doesn’t mean we won’t see a 100% full-screen handset this year. Today, Huawei announced the release date of the Huawei Honor 10. It will launch on May 15. Remember this date as the world’s first 100% full-screen will make its way at that time.

The manufacturer promotes this phone with a slogan ‘Beauty in AI’. This makes us think the Huawei Honor 10 will come with a Kirin 970 chip, which is the world’s first SoC coming with an NPU. So as there is no hint at a new Kirin chip, most likely it will sport the same chipset found on the current flagship.

However, the Huawei Honor 10 will differ from all previous models a lot. First, the screen proportion is 100%. Thus there are no borders, no chin, and no forehead. It still remains unknown how the manufacturer has solved the problem related to the front camera. Say, the APEX comes with a pop-up camera that hides in the body when not used. But most likely it is patented by VIVO. So Huawei should come in with something else.

Earlier we have seen a couple of leaked photos showing the phone will really sport a Kirin 970 SoC, a 5.8-inch full-screen, and a 6+256GB memory combination. Moreover, they show there is no post-mounted fingerprint scanner. This simply means the Honor 10 will come with an on-screen fingerprint identification technology. This is quite possible because the recently announced Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design supports such a feature.
