Huawei Mate 20 Pro To Use BOE AMOLED Displays?

In October of last year, Huawei launched the new Mate series smartphones, the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The former one uses a 16:9 ratio LCD display, while the latter uses an 18:9 OLED screen. As for now, more news indicates that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro that is set to release in the second half of this year will also use OLED displays.

A few weeks ago, Huawei was purchasing a large number of 6.9-inch 2K AMOLED display panels from Samsung, and they might be used on the Huawei Mate 20. However, it turns out that these Samsung AMOLED panels are used in the Honor Note 10. And this is the most interesting part of the story. According to huaweicentral, Huawei is purchasing AMOLED displays from BOE for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and they are likely to have a 2K resolution.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

As you remember, BOE has been set to rival Samsung in the AMOLED display industry. Its factory in Chengdu has started making the sixth generation AMOLED displays long ago. And it was reported there are over 10 customers such as Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, VIVO etc. Now it turns out this is the right time to switch from Samsung to BOE. Moreover, it is rumored BOE has got orders from Apple.

Apart from this, earlier this year, Huawei’s 10V/4A SuperFast charger passed the 3C certification, and it was said the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the number one candidate to come with this feature.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

According to the current news, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will be equipped with a Kirin 980 SoC, and will adopt a rear triple-camera design similar to the P20 Pro. Plus, there will be a front dual-camera, which will make it a penta-camera phone.
