Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design Uses Exclusive On-Screen Fingerprint Technology

On March 27, Huawei announced its annual flagships in face of the P20 and P20 Pro. If the P20 is a regular high-end smartphone with many top-notch features, the P20 Pro is considered to be the world’s first tri-camera devices adopting Leica optics. However, there was another model in face of the Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design. The latter is among the world’s most powerful devices. But many ignored it. Besides the best and most powerful hardware inherited from the Huawei P20 Pro, it also comes with an on-screen fingerprint identification. Thus we are dealing with the third smartphone with such a feature after the VIVO X20 Plus UD and VIVO X21 UD.

As China Securities Journal and China Securities Network reported on March 28, the Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design uses an on-screen fingerprint identification program provided by Huiding Technology. The latter has got the exclusive rights on supplying the screen optics (IN-DISPLAY FINGERPRINT SENSORTM).

A person in charge of Huiding Technology told the China Securities Network reporter that the company had worked hard for many years to introduce the industry’s best in-screen optical fingerprinting solution with the best performance and technology, and won Huawei’s order, which is not easy to come along.

First of all, the HUAWEI Mate RS Porsche Design uses an OLED soft screen. Actually, there is no precedent in the industry of achieving the OLED soft screen and on-screen optical fingerprint lamination process under the guarantee of fingerprint performance. In the face of this industry problem, R&D personnel took several months of tests and repeated experiments to bring the world’s only in-screen optical fingerprint solution that can simultaneously support OLED soft and hard screens.
