Lenovo To Be The First Launching Snapdragon 8cx Laptop

On February 25, according to Anandtech, at the new product launch conference held by Qualcomm at MWC, Lenovo representatives confirmed that their company will be the first to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx chip to build a notebook computer with 5G mobile network.

Lenovo has always been a key partner of Qualcomm, and it is committed to bringing the hardware of smartphones into the traditional PC market. The main direction is high-performance PC + long battery life.

In fact, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 8cx at the Technology Summit in December 2018, which is suitable for Windows notebooks and all-in-ones. Now, Qualcomm has upgraded the Snapdragon 8cx to an 8cx 5G computing platform, making it the world’s first commercial 5G PC chipset.

The chip’s main highlights include a 7nm manufacturing process, a new Qualcomm Adreno 680 GPU, a new octa-core Qualcomm Kryo 495 CPU, and Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology.

However, since the release, there has been no news about Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx in the market until Lenovo issued this statement. So many people in the industry have doubts about this.

Why is the product so slow to go on the market? Some media analyzed the possible reasons.
