Lenovo Z5 Officially Released: Too Much Promised, Too Less Brought

Today, on June 5, the Lenovo Z5 was officially released. It’s been thought this handset will become the next national flagship. And though Lenovo still thinks so, the Z5 is far to be called a flagship device. Of course, we are dealing with a piece of art. But it’s a mid-ranger with a couple of outstanding features.

First, the Lenovo Z5 uses the much-popular notch screen. It comes with a 6.2-inch display supporting DCI-P3 wide color gamut, a brightness of 700 nits, an aspect ratio of 19:9, screen share of 90%, and a resolution of 1080 x 2246 pixels. The chin is narrowed to 7.69mm. Thus it is narrower than the Xiaomi Mi 6X by 3.35mm and than the Xiaomi Mi 8 by 0.70mm. Not just the chin, the Lenovo Z5’s bangs have also been optimized. Its bangs width is 26.17mm, with a very narrow forehead of 3.79mm. The back uses a 2.5D arc glass. There are three color options including Schumann Black, Card Indigo, and Aurora.

Under the hood, the Lenovo Z5 sports a Snapdragon 636 octa-core chip, which is paired with a 6GB of RAM and 3300mAH battery supporting 18W fast charging. It can provide up to half an hour of talk time when the remaining power is 0%. As for the storage options, there are three variants. The pricing varies depending on it.

As for photography features, the phone is packed with a 16MP+8MP AI dual-camera supporting a hair-level ultra-high resolution, support AI 4D beauty, AI night scene, AI multiple noise reductions, AI portrait mode, 4K video recording, and joined ArcSoft depth of field algorithm. The Lenovo Z5 runs on ZUI 4.0. Lenovo promotes it as ‘The first time to let Android run like iOS.’ It added a special technology making the CPU speed increase by 25%. There is also a U-Touch 4.0 comprehensive screen gesture operation and other innovative features.

The 6+64GB (Schumann Black) is offered at 1299 yuan, while the same memory combination in Card Indigo and Aurora is at 1399 yuan. The 6+128GB model is available at 1799 yuan. They will go on sale on June 12.
