LG V30s ThinQ With Artificial Intelligence Announced: Hands-on Photos
At MWC 2018, many smartphone makers come in with their best creations. However, some of them skip this event in order to hold a separate conference for their flagships. At least, Huawei and LG are acting in this way. But if the Chinese manufacturer is going to launch its P20 premium phone in a month, there has been no leak concerning LG. however, today the company announced a new full-screen handset named the LG V30s ThinQ. As the name suggests, this is the upgraded variant of the original V30. Plus, there are two new color options including a Moroccan blue and Platinum ash.
In terms of appearance, this handset comes with the same dual-camera module and a fingerprint reader placed on the back. The LG V30s ThinQ sports a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 2880 × 1440 pixels. Under the hood, we can find a Snapdragon 835 chip, which is paired with a 6GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage.
However, the LG V30s ThinQ’s selling point is the AI. This is the same technology shown by LG back at CES 2018. Thanks to it the phone’s camera is able to identify subjects and scenes and adjust parameters (such as brightness and color) for them when shooting. Of course, the LG V30s ThinQ is not the first phone with similar capabilities, but it’s a great move for the manufacturer to design such an awesome handset.
At the same time, the AI camera comes with a function named the QLens. Thanks to it you can scan two-dimensional codes and barcodes, and search for identical products directly on Amazon and other sites.
The next interesting feature is the smart voice recognition technology. It’s based on an LG-made QVoice tool. This technology also works with Google Assistant.
The LG V30s ThinQ is scheduled to ship in South Korea first in March. The other markets will get it as well, but the time when it will happen remains unknown. It is priced at KRW 1 million ($932).
