LG Zone 4 Entry-Level Smartphone Launched Via Verizon

Things are not going well for the South Korean LG. It is yielding its main rival a lot. So do not be surprised to hear it is staying the smartphones market for strategic reasons only like the case with Sony. Look, it has announced the LG V30s ThinQ with Artificial Intelligence back in February, and the next flagship in face of the LG G7 is rumored to hit the market only in June. Thus the company won’t offer anything worthy for a few months. Instead, it launched a very low-end LG Zone 4 today in the US via the local carrier of Verizon.

LG Zone 4

In terms of appearance and hardware, the LG Zone 4 comes with very modest features. Say, it’s packed with a 5-inch HD screen (1280×720), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chip (that is the only highlight of the phone), 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via SD card slot, an 8MP camera on the back, a 5MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calls, and a 2500mAh battery. All these features are under the control of Android 7.1.2.

The LG Zone 4 is an entry-level, undoubtedly. But it’s priced at $114.99, which is equivalent to 727 Chinese yuan. So not accidentally many ask whether such a handset could be competitive if released in China. When looking at 700-800 yuan smartphones launched in this market, we see they provide way better appearance and specs list. So most likely the LG Zone 4 will never enter other markets. As for the US, probably it’s a good offer for those who look for a cheap smartphone.
