MediaTek Launched Dimensity 800 5G Single-Chip SoC
At the end of November last year, MediaTek released the flagship 5G single-chip Dimensity 1000, which has breakthrough innovations in 5G, performance, AI, photography, gaming and other aspects. Among them, the Dimensity 1000L has been launched by OPPO Reno 3. Today, MediaTek officially released the new Dimensity 800, which is also an SoC single chip with integrated 5G baseband. It claims to bring flagship-level functions, energy efficiency, and experience to high-end 5G smartphones.
The Dimensity 800 is built on a 7nm process. It uses an octa-core design, including four Cortex A76 and four Cortex A55 cores, of which the highest frequency is 2.0GHz. As for graphics, the DNT 800 integrates a quad-core GPU with the same level of DNT 1000 series. However, the company did not disclose the specific model number. But there is a first-party message indicating to the Mali-G57MP4.
Further, the DNT 800 is also equipped with APU 3.0, which provides up 2.4TOP of AI of energy. As for photography, it supports up to four cameras and 64MP element.
In terms of connectivity and 5G network, the Dimensity 800 features an integrated design with a branched support carrier aggregation 5G bis (2CC the CA ). At the same time, the DNT 800 also supports SA / NSA networking, dynamic state spectrum sharing special technology, known as VoNR, global sub-6GHz 5G networks. MediaTek believes that integrated design has a huge advantage in power consumption compared to dual chips.
The first use of DNT 800 –powered terminal equipment is expected to be launched in the first half of 2020.
