Nubia Red Dev Unboxing: Another Gaming Smartphone
All smartphone makers have launched full-screen smartphones that also sport a dual-camera. These are two mainstreams all of them follow. Of course, there is another trend – all chip makers (there are not that many) put an independent AI unit in the SoCs. So we can state the smartphones have become more intelligent, shot better photos, and view more. But again, any smartphone brand has at least one device with similar features. They are even priced identically. So how a customer can choose and buy a new phone? To stand out, all manufacturers are looking for new trends and distinguishing features. Seems Xiaomi and Nubia have found something like that. Recently, the Xiaomi Black Shark was announced as the world’s first true gaming smartphone. Yesterday, Nubia came in with its own model. The Nubia Red Dev gaming smartphone is out and we can get our hands on it.
The Nubia Red Dev sports a 6-inch JDI screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution. The housing of the smartphone looks like a meteorite with light strips that support 16.8 million RGB colors and 4 lighting modes. It also uses a 6-series aviation aluminum alloy middle frame, an all-metal nano-back cover, a non-slip anti-fingerprint design, and a 174.5° diamond cut surface.
Under the hood, it carries a Snapdragon 835 chip, which is paired with a 6/8GB of RAM, 64/128GB of ROM, and 3800mAh battery. It’s not very popular in terms of photography. There is only an 8MP camera on the front and a 24MP rear camera with a large aperture of f/1.7.
The phone comes with a cooling black technology. It includes air-cooled technology, ‘near-black body’ technology, three-layer graphite heat dissipation technology, three-dimensional surface heat dissipation and so on.
The 6+64GB variant of the Nubia Red Dev costs 2499 yuan, while the 8+128GB variant is priced at 2999 yuan.
