Nubia Z18 mini (aka Mavericks 9) Officially Announced

Today, on April 11, the Nubia Z18 mini with strong shooting capabilities, full-screen design, and stylish look was announced, as scheduled. This brand has been on the market for about 6 years, and it has managed to come in with 8 models for this special line that is alternatively called Mavericks. So the Z18 mini is also known as the Mavericks 9. (The rest eight models are the Z5 mini, Z5S mini, Z7 mini, Z9 mini, Z11 mini, Z11 miniS, Z17 mini, Z17 miniS.)

The Nubia Z18 mini uses 3D curved glass on the back that passes through multiple manufacturing processes to provide a perfect touch feeling. Like other models, it continues using the much-known nubiArc special look that provides a 1.5mm thickness at the thinnest part (at the edges). There are five color options including Glacier White, Diamond Black, Celadon Blue, Ying Ying Powder aka Rose Gold and the Limited Provence Edition which is purple in color.

As for configuration, the Nubia Z18 mini is packed with a 5.7-inch screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a 2160 × 1080 resolution, 450nit brightness, 1500:1 ratio, 428PPI pixel density, 2.5D arc glass, 180 degrees of viewing angle, and In-Cell technology. The phone is packed with the best chip in the super mid-range market, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660AIE with a neural network acceleration chip. The latter is coupled with a 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of internal storage, Adreno 512 graphics, and 3450mAh battery supporting NeoPower power-saving technology. The smartphone runs on nubiaUI based on Android 8.1. Apart from the goodies coming our way from Android Oreo, the handset also comes pre-loaded with an exclusive Maverick voice support. You can find a contact, open apps or do other operations via voice commands. Plus, it supports voice commands to transfer text in real time.

In terms of shooting, the Nubia Z18 mini is packed with a 24+5MP dual-camera with an aperture of f/1.7, PDAF phase focus and white contrast focus support. On the front, it features an 8MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture and AI algorithm supporting smart beauty.

The Nubia Z18 mini is available in a few versions: 6GB+64GB version costs 1799 yuan ($284), the 6GB+128GB version costs 2099 yuan ($334), and the Provence version costs 2199 yuan ($350). They will start selling on April 19.
