Official: Xiaomi Mi Max 3 To Be Unveiled on July 19

Yesterday, Xiaomi spread the news via its Weibo account, saying this morning it will uncover some interesting news. At the same time, it released a poster with a mysterious Xiaomi smartphone that asked ‘the large smartphone is …’ We were thinking it’s about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max 3. And we were right. Today, the manufacturer officially announced it is going to release the Mi Max 3 on July 19.

With its large screen and long battery life, the Xiaomi Mi Max series has won the favor of many heavy users and replaced the Android tablet to some extent. The previous generation Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was released in May last year. After more than a year of iteration, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is finally coming.

Prior to this, the alleged Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with model numbers of M1804E4T, M1804E4C, and M1804E4A has passed through TENAA certification. According to the MIIT documents, the phone will come with dimensions of 176.15×87.4×7.99 mm and a weight of 221 grams.

As for the features, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will continue following the same philosophy and design style of previous models and sport a 6.9-inch screen (the Mi Max 2 was packed with a 6.44-inch), which has a resolution of 2160×1080 (18:9) and a built-in 5400mAh battery. The back is made out of metal, using a nano-injected antenna, vertically arranged dual-camera, and a fingerprint scanner.

In terms of hardware, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will be a mid-ranger. That’s why it’s considered to be the larger variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6X. Under the hood, it will carry an octa-core 1.8GHz chip (assumed to be the Snapdragon 636), 3/4/6GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB of native storage, which can be also expanded up to 128GB via the TF card slot. An 8MP camera is on the front, and a 12MP dual-camera is on the back.

As we said at the beginning of the article, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will be packed with a battery of 5400mAh capacity. In comparison to its predecessor that came with a 5300mAh, it’s a bit larger. The Mi Max 2’s battery provided up to 31 days of standby mode. It’s assumed this phone will improve this feature as well.
