ONKYO Hi-Res Tablet With High-End Features Announced

Japanese manufacturers are yielding their positions. Even Sony has announced it stays in the mobile business only for strategic reasons. On the contrary, Chinese vendors are gaining momentum. A simple look at the number of models launched monthly will showcase the real picture what’s happening in the world. But today another Japanese manufacturer that is mostly known for its audio products such as headphones, players, and other equipment, came in with a product designed for a different niche. It announced the ONKYO Hi-Res tablet.

As the name suggests, the ONKYO Hi-Res tablet comes with a high-resolution screen. Actually, this is 4K screen tablet with a number of great features. Probably, we can call it one of the most powerful tablets around the world. It sports a 12.5-inch screen with a resolution of 3840 * 2160 pixels (4K). Under the hood, we can find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, which is in its turn paired with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The battery capacity is 12.000mAh, which provides a long lasting life. On the other hand, it’s quite reasonable to see such a large capacity battery in this handsets. We mean a larger screen with a high resolution requires a larger battery. Apart from this, the ONKYO Hi-Res comes with a microSD card slot, SIM card slot, and USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 8.0.

But we are dealing with a brand that makes audio products. So it’s been expected to see great audio experience on it. The ONKYO Hi-Res tablet features an ODMD (ONKYO Double-Molding Diaphragm), built-in DTS-X Premium decoder chip, DTS Play-Fi, and dual ES9018K2M + dual ES9601K chips.

However, nothing concerning its pricing and launch date was revealed. We only know the ONKYO Hi-Res will become available by the end of 2018.
