OPPO 5G CPE Released: Snapdragon X55 and SA/NSA Dual-Mode Support
At the 2019 Future Technology Conference, OPPO released the customer’s front-end equipment, namely OPPO 5G CPE. The latter comes with the Snapdragon X55 and supports SA/NSA dual-mode 5G. It will be released for commercial use in the first quarter of 2020.
Thus, with the launch of this product, OPPO brings 5G connectivity to larger masses. And you don’t have to buy a new 5G smartphone to experience 5G.
OP Chang, Vice President of the OPPO and Dean of the Academy, said that the OPPO 5G CPE will become the “connection hub” in future home and other scenarios. Apart from this, he believes it will turn into the center of computing power and connected communications. Users only need a 5G SIM card to allow 5G CPE-equipped devices to enjoy the 5G experience.
We can insert a 5G card at the bottom of the OPPO 5G CPE equipment to support simultaneous access to more than 1,000 devices. Other than that, this device also supports Bluetooth, ZigBee, and Zwave. This simply means it will be compatible with many other smart devices manufactured by other companies.
Those who are not aware, CPE stands for Customer Premise Equipment. A customer front-end equipment is actually a mobile signal access device. It receives mobile signals and forwards them with wireless WiFi signals. It also uses a type of high-speed 4G or 5G signals converted into WiFi signals. So, a large number of mobile terminals can simultaneously access the Internet. This CPE can be widely used in rural, urban, hospital, unit, factory, community and other buildings, and it can save the cost of laying a wired network.
