OPPO Launches New Brand, Namely Reno: First Model Arrives on April 10

On March 11, Shen Yiren, vice president of OPPO and president of China Business Department, announced on Weibo that the company is launching a new series, namely Reno. The first smartphone of this family will debut on April 10.

Not long ago, Shen Yiren revealed on Weibo that this year OPPO did not plan to launch the R19 series model(s). This statement triggered speculation about the adjustment of OPPO products. Then, he said OPPO will create a brand new product line based on the software experience to hardware innovation, from Internet products to terminal services.

At present, OPPO owns the Find series, positioning the high-end flagship niche, the R series, positioning the mid-range niche, and the A series, positioning the entry-level market. In addition, OPPO also launched the online K-series last year, which is considered to bring cost-effective models.

At the MWC 2019 show held recently, OPPO showed the latest 10x hybrid optical zoom technology and 5G technology. Both are expected to be applied to the new series of Reno.

At the same time, Shen Yiren also revealed some key information about the upcoming Reno model. It includes a 48MP HD main camera, with dual-OIS support, Snapdragon 855, etc. The latter is built on a 7nm process technology, adopting a new three-cluster eight-core architecture, specifically from 1×2.84GHz super large core +3×2.42GHz large core +4 × 1.8GHz small core, and it uses the Adreno 640 GPU. Plus, the phone will be equipped with a 4065mAh battery, which will be the largest among the domestic SND855 models.

It is expected that Reno will also be set in the high-end flagship series. So it is not difficult to guess Reno and Find will implement the company’s ‘double-flagship’ strategy, which is identical to Huawei’s Mate and P series.
