Redmi Note 7 Beast Honor V20 In Terms of Sales

On January 28, Lu Weibing, vice president of Xiaomi Group and general manager of Redmi brand, said that their latest flagship smartphone with a 48MP camera has been in the spotlight recently, and they deliberately have been following the sales performance of this handset at Jingdong and Tmall. That’s not a secret the Redmi Note 7 is struggling against the Honor V20. Generally, the fight between these two brands seems will have no end though Honor thinks they have won the race. If you remember, the V20 was launched 20 days earlier, but its overall sales volume is about one-third of the Redmi Note 7.

Both models the Redmi Note 7 and the Honor V20 are equipped with 48MP ultra-clear cameras, of which the Honor V20 is packed with the Sony IMX586 sensor, while the Redmi Note 7 uses the Samsung GM1 lens. However, when comparing the hardware quality of IMX586 and Samsung GM1, it is obvious that the former is better. This shouldn’t hurt the popularity of the Redmi Note 7 because as Xiaomi, founder and CEO of Xiaomi Technology, Lei Jun has confirmed the Redmi Note 7 Pro equipped with the Sony IMX586 will be released after the Spring Festival.

This doesn’t mean the Redmi Note 7 that sports a Samsung GM1 sensor takes worse photos. It is reported that the Redmi Note 7’s rear main lens unit pixel area is 0.8μm. Also, it supports the same handheld super night scene algorithm as the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, while supporting high sensitivity mode, (4 pixels combined into a 0.8μm large pixel). The latter allows the phone to output a 12MP high-quality night photo.
