Sony Confirms Three New Phones Coming at MWC 2018

We know Sony will be at the MWC 2018, and it will be one of the first manufacturers announcing new phones. Its spokesmen will be on the stage on February 26. Now we can say this is the date when up to three new Xperia handsets will be unleashed. Today, Sony Mobile South Africa FB account provided an information concerning the event and said there will be three models instead of one.

Sony

We have combined this statement with the leaks and rumors come earlier. So seems we know the most selling points of each device that is set to launch in a few days.

Sony

Those three models include the Sony Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Compact, and XZ2 Premium. The latter is also known as the XZ2s. The regular XZ2 is said to come with Sony’s new 18:9 full-screen design with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. But as there are relatively wide forehead and chin, do not wait for it to look like other full-screen handsets. On the back, it will carry a 19MP camera identical to the XZ1. It will be also using a double-sided glass housing with a metal frame. At last, there is a dedicated camera button on the side, but the 3.5mm audio jack has been removed.

Sony Xperia

The Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact are said to sport a Snapdragon 845 chip. The former one comes with a 5.7-inch screen, while its sibling will be using a 5-inch display. The Compact will also come with a 2870mAh battery and run on Android 8.0.

As for the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, there are too many rumors saying it will be the world’s first 4K OLED screen handset. But let’s wait for the event and get all the answers there.
