Umidigi S2 Lite Launched With A Snapdragon 625 Chip

Many customers are not aware of the brand, Umidigi. But this is the old good UMI that has been launching poor devices. After the rebranding implemented last year, the company began making really worthy models. One of them was the Umidigi S. It became very popular abroad (actually, it is selling smartphones only abroad). That’s why the company decided to make it even more powerful and launched the second-gen Umidigi S2. The latter was packed with an Helio P20 chip. But those who want more can get their hands on the Umdigi S2 Pro sporting even higher the Helio P25 processor. All these models are good enough, but they are packed with MediaTek chips. This fact pushes away many customers. So the manufacturer decided to come in with a Snapdragon-powered variant of this amazing handset named the Umidigi S2 Lite. The latter was announced today. The Umidigi S2 Lite comes with a metal housing. So this is a big move forward if taking into account the fact only some of the mid-range smartphones come with such a housing. Of course, it sports the trendiest feature of full-screen. The latter comes at 5.7 inches and uses an aspect ratio of 18:9. The resolution is 1080p. So we should state, the S2 Lite won’t yield its rivals in terms of viewing experience.

As for hardware, the Umidigi S2 Lite is packed with a Snapdragon 625 chip. Many may think the MediaTek Helio P20 and P25 are better chips when looking at the parameters, but Qualcomm has proven long ago it’s the best chip maker in the world. The SoC is paired with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. The battery capacity is 5100mAh. So the phone is capable of providing long life.

It carries a 16+5MP dual-camera module on the back and a 5MP shooter on the front. There are also two kinds of protection. First, there is a fingerprint scanner placed on the back. Second, the phone supports facial recognition through the front camera. At last, the Umidigi S2 Lite runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, which is upgradable to Android 8.1. The phone costs $188.
