Upcoming Nokia 8.2 5G Smartphone Will Be Released Next Year

Today, HMD Global’s CPO Juho Sarvikas stated on social networking sites that he would announce the plans for Nokia 5G smartphones at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit. A new generation of products and technologies will be unveiled at each session of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit. This year’s highly anticipated Snapdragon 865 is expected to officially appear as well.

Based on the current information, Nokia’s first 5G smartphone model is the Nokia 8.2, which will support the Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 processor. The Nokia phones have used the Snapdragon 7 series chipsets in the past, and are positioned just below the Nokia flagships without being nearly as expensive. Considering that the Nokia 8.1 is due for a refresh in the coming months, and is one of the most popular smartphones of HMD Global, the Nokia 8.2 may be the company’s affordable 5G handset.

Details about the upcoming Nokia 8.2 are still scarce, but it is predicted that the smartphone should follow the same glass and metal sandwich design like most of Nokia’s other smartphones.

Talking of cameras, according to reliable sources, the Nokia 8.2 5G smartphone will go for a multi-camera setup such as the Nokia 7.2, by bringing a 64MP primary camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a depth sensor.

As for the price of the smartphone, Juho Sarvikas has revealed earlier that the price of Nokia’s 5G smartphones will be about half of the current 5G phones՛ price. So the price of the Nokia 8.2 should be between $500-650.

Finally, it is expected that Nokia’s first 5G smartphone will be officially released next year at Mobile World Congress 2020.
