Xiaomi Announced Redmi Note Series Has Shipped Over 100 Million Units

At the beginning of this year, Xiaomi announced its Redmi line is turning into a separate brand. But it’s just the part of its dual-strategy plan. We mean, though it became a new brand in the smartphone industry, we all know it belongs to Xiaomi like Honor that performs under the control of Huawei. Yesterday, Manu Kumar Jain, vice president of Xiaomi International and head of Xiaomi India, issued a statement on social media. He said that the sales of Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi Note series has exceeded 100 million units.

Redmi Note

The Redmi Note series was born in 2014. This line has been always known for large screen products that were also cost-effective. The latest model from this line the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The latter features the Helio G90T processor, a 3D four-curved glass body, and a 6.53-inch full-screen. There are also three colors: Fritillaire White, Ice Jade, and Electro-Gray. For the camera, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is equipped with a 20-megapixel quad-camera. The main sensor is Samsung’s GW1 64-megapixel CMOS.

Redmi Note

The previous generation of the Redmi Note 7 series shipped more than 4 million units at the end of March this year. In July, this number rose to 15 million units, and the current sales have exceeded 20 million units.

The Redmi Note series is the embodiment of Xiaomi’s pursuit of extreme price. And if in the past, this line was fighting in the mid-range market only (not taking into account the original Redmi series in the entry-level niche), now there is a flagship model as well. If you guess, we are talking about the Redmi K20 Pro. But still, this brand has not launched a high-end smartphone for the Note family.
