Xiaomi Black Shark Gaming Smartphone Announced
Today, on April 13, Xiaomi’s gaming handset brand, Black Shark Technology officially announced the Xiaomi Black Shark gaming smartphone. It’s quite a smart move if taking into account China’s game market exceed 200 billion yuan. The latter sounds quite attractive. That’s why many Chinese manufacturers will come with identical smartphones in the nearest future. The next will be Nubia.
The Xiaomi Black Shark sports a 5.99-inch IPS display with a 1080p resolution, 500nits brightness, and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The overall design is symmetrical using a front-facing fingerprint recognition placed under the non-pressed home button. On the back, the phone looks quite amazing with a bossy rear panel and strong gaming accent. The Black Shark’s S logo is backlit.
As for performance, the Xiaomi Black Shark is equipped with a Snapdragon 845 chip, which is paired with an Adreno 630 graphics processor. Moreover, Black Shark also announced they had worked with Qualcomm to optimize over 500 mobile games. It scores 279,464 points at AnTuTu, which is higher than the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S’ result. The Xiaomi Black Shark is also packed with a 4000mAh battery, which supports QC3.0.
The multi-stage, one-touch, and integrated liquid cooling system with integrated metal welding solution provides a heat dissipation area of 6,000 square millimeters, a 20-fold increase in CPU cooling efficiency, a 70% increase in CPU maximum frequency runtime, and a CPU core temperature reduction of up to 8°.
One of the innovations used in this phone is the X-type antenna design. The antennas are located on four corners of the phone, but they are closer to the center axis. So it can avoid pressing the antenna with the hands while holding the phone. As you know, it affects the network and brings to the “grip of death”.
For a better audio-visual experience, the Xiaomi Black Shark uses an independent image processing chip with an NTSC 95%, DCI-P3, video HDR support, and an MEMC intelligent motion compensation technology to make the game screen clearer. There are custom stereo dual speakers for real restoration of the game scene through built-in Biso sound. Plus, it comes with a dedicated mic designed to provide a clear game call.
There is also a gamepad that supports ALPS joystick specially designed according to the hand travel position. But as there is only the left-side gamepad, the phone supports touchscreen and handle at the same time. The Xiaomi Black Shark gaming smartphone comes with a Shark key to enter a gaming mode immediately.
At last, it runs on Joy UI based on Android 8.0. It inherits many MIUI elements and allows users to directly log into the Xiaomi account.
There are two color options of night black and sky black. The 6+64GB variant is priced at 2999 yuan, while the 8+128GB model costs 3499 yuan. The gamepad will be sent to the first 50.000 buyers for free. But it costs 179 yuan. The phone will go on sale on April 20.
