Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker (2nd generation) review
Following its tradition, Xiaomi tried to reach an high level of quality through its 2nd generation of Bluetooth Speaker. Again, thanks to Gearbest we could test Xiaomi Bluetooth 4.2 Speaker for you!
Box and Specs
Shipped in a white and really small box, Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker can be taken out with a simple slide from a side of the box but package seems really solid and slick at all.
In the box you will find only the speaker and no micro-USB cable: strange choice showing how Xiaomi aims for simplicity and solidity of its package, as you can see.
So Xiaomi Speaker looks elegant and solid. 15.45 x 6.00 x 2.55 cm are its dimensions that do look small if you compare them with the first generation one. On the upper side there are the only two buttons: Power and Volume Changer. On the backside there are micro-USB and AUX IN inputs, but obviously remember that Xiaomi Speaker works perfectly by Bluetooth Connection!
As you can see, a light on the frontside lets you to understand when Xiaomi Speaker is turned on and when is paired with your bluetooth devices. On the other hand, the device is characterized by two 2.5W speakers and by 1200 mAh battery letting you to listen your favourite music for about 10 hours continuosly. Charging time will be about 3 hours (5V/1A).
Working and Sound
Pairing is really simple and fast, like all Xiaomi accessories. So, as you can see, we did some tests on Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker and the maximum level reached is 81 dB: “sounds good” for a “mini-speaker”!
Let me give you a little recommendation: if you try to set sound through some specific app, you will find out a great way to use your Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker! Personally, I set it with Viper4Android and the results were really really amazing!
Price
So, before trying the new Xiaomi Speaker, let me tell you about its price! Again thanks to Gearbest for the sample to review. At the moment I’m writing, Xiaomi Speaker is on FlashSale on Gearbest for about 27 dollars.
IMO Bluetooth Speaker is a good compromise between price and quality. Thinking about the loudness, Xiaomi 4.2 Bluetooth Speaker looks like a great product with some, but rare, cons. The one jumps out is the absence of a cable into the box, but overall Xiaomi Speaker is a really good product that Xiaomi fans must have!
