Xiaomi Mi A2 To Launch Next Month With Ship Date of August 8
The Xiaomi Mi 5X was considered to be the best mid-ranger on the market. So when the manufacturer released the Xiaomi Mi A1 based on it and running pure Android, everyone was pleasantly surprised. The Mi A1 has become not only the overseas variant of the Mi 5X but also one of the first models coming our way from Google’s Android One Program. It happened on September 5, 2017. And there has been every reason to think the Xiaomi Mi A2 will follow the schedule. But now there are rumors confirming the upcoming launch of the mentioned model, with a ship date of August 8.
Undoubtedly, the Xiaomi Mi A2 will be based on the Xiaomi Mi 6X. Thus, the manufacturer follows the same strategy seen in the previous model. This simply means the Mi A2 will be packed with the same hardware and sport the same look as its founding father but run on a native Android.
As you remember, this phone came with a slogan of ‘A 20MP camera on the back and front to make people more beautiful.’ In other words, the Mi A2 will be another selfie-centric handset, with strong photographing capabilities. Unlike its predecessor that came with a dual-camera, the sensors of which were supplied by OmniVision, the Mi 6X (therefore, the Xiaomi Mi A2) sports a 12+20MP dual-camera using the Sony IMX486 and Sony IMX376 sensors with a 1.25um and 1.0 unit pixel areas, respectively, and a large aperture of f/1.7. It’s senseless to say the main shooter and the selfie camera with a 20MP resolution support AI shooting with multiple enhanced features.
As for the hardware, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to come with the same Snapdragon 660 AIE (Artificial Intelligence Engine), a 3010mAh battery supporting Quick Charge 3.0, a 5.99-inch Full HD+ resolution. It runs on MIUI 9.5 Stable Version based on Android 8.1.
According to retailers, the Xiaomi Mi A2 will be released next at a starting price of $290 (for the 32GB variant), at $330 (for the 64GB variant), and at $370 for the (128GB model). There should be three color options, including black, blue, and gold.
