Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S to Use iPhone X-Like Bangs Screen

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 was launched on the same day as the iPhone X. this is a very risky move, but if Xiaomi has done it, this means it doesn’t scare of Apple or any other top brand. However, Apple is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. This simply means any action it makes will become a mainstream and followed by millions. The same is true for the full-screen. Though the Xiaomi Mi MIX was the first handset with this technology, it’s gone viral only after the iPhone X launch. An identical statement can be said about the facial recognition technology. Though there had been some models supporting this feature, Face ID made a huge stir around it. The power of Apple is so impressive that it is going to affect Xiaomi as well. Today a couple of photos were leaked showing an alleged Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. Seems nothing surprising, but the aforementioned model is going to use the bangs screen found on the iPhone X.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S

We know there are three + kinds of full-screen designs. The first one is familiar to us from the original Mi MIX models. They use a tri-bezel-less screen design, which simply means the there is no forehead. Therefore all the sensors are placed either under the screen or on the chin. The second is a regular full-screen using both forehead and chin. But they are too narrowed. And finally, there is another full-screen design used mainly by Huawei. It is the modified variant of the second point, but there is a home button on the chin. Apple launched the iPhone X and added the fourth variant to the list. And though the aforementioned three approaches don’t yield the bangs screen, Apple is going to change the world again.

According to the leak, the phone shown in the photos is codenamed Polaris. It is going to be the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. So when it is launched the iPhone X will get a real rival in face of the Xiaomi model. What’s more interesting, the upcoming Huawei P20 is said to us an identical design. So it turns out the bangs screen will appear on more than one premium flagships.

At last, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is said to support facial recognition like its competitor. A dual-camera with a vertical layout should be on the back using 12+12MP sensors combination.
