Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Redmi Pro Design, Specs, Antutu, Battery, Camera Review

Xiaomi Redmi smartphones have sold at the most competitive price for most users, so they are willing to try Redmi series. In the past few years, Redmi Series has sold over 0.11billion units. Recently, they have released Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Pro. So which one should you choose? In terms of price, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sells at least $150, Redmi Pro at least $250. But Redmi Note 4 advanced version and Redmi Pro standard version sells similar now.

Specs

Redmi Note 4 has 5.5inch 1080P screen, 2.5D curved glass, it is powered by Helio X20 Deca core processor, RAM 3GB ROM 64GB, in camera, it has 13MP back camera and 8MP front camera, and it adopts fingerprint scanner on its back, built in 4100mAh battery, dual SIM card, dual standby. In OS, it runs MIUI 8 OS based on Android OS.

In terms of specs, Redmi Note 4 advanced version has not big difference to Redmi Pro standard version, because Redmi Pro also has 5.5inch 2.5D curved screen, powered by Helio X20 Deca core, RAM 3GB , 4050mAh battery.

Design

Redmi Note 4 has same metal CNC craftsmanship as Xiaomi Redmi Pro. Compared with Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4 has improved a lot in design, Redmi Note 3 uses pressing craftsmanship, and the up and down uses plastic materials, then combined them together. Compared with pressing craftsmanship, Redmi Note 4 metal CNC processing seems higher level.

In terms of surface processing, Redmi Note 4 uses ceramic sand blasting process. The main advantage of this technology is that if forms very fine grinding sand surface that can increase the metal surface stereo feeling and level feeling.

But Redmi Pro and Redmi Note 4 is totally different, Redmi Pro uses a metal wire drawing process, and it has done the glaze processing on the back.

We test this two smartphones’ transmission rate, it supports USB 3.0 port which can upload 2.37GB, Redmi Note 4 uses 5 minutes 32 seconds, but Redmi Pro uses 5 minutes 22 seconds, no big difference.

Totally, Redmi Pro is better than Redmi Note 4 in design and holding feel.

We have mentioned before that Redmi Note 4 has similar specs to Redmi Pro, both uses Helio X20 Deca core processor, In antutu test, there is no big difference in running speed.

As for fingerprint scanner, Redmi Note 4 uses back fingerprint scanner, but Redmi Pro adopts front fingerprint scanner.

According to our habits, front fingerprint scanner is more suitable for thumb, the back fingerprint scanner more suitable for index and middle finger.  Besides this difference, Redmi Note 4 fingerprint scanner supports unlocking under off-screen with fast response. Redmi Pro uses the Home button to unlock. Both have similar unlocking speed, only different habits of using.

Camera

Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Pro has the big difference in camera, the latter owns dual real camera. But both smartphone has 13MP rear camera.

In focusing speed, under the bright environment, two smartphones have the similar speed. Under the dim light, Redmi Pro is faster than Redmi Note 4 in focusing speed, due to Redmi Pro dual rear camera.

Conclusion

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 advanced version and Redmi Pro standard version have much similarity in hardware, although they are different in price.  Redmi Pro is better than Redmi Note 4 in design, holding feel and camera. But Redmi Note 4 has better price. And Redmi Note 4  advanced version is the first to improve to ROM 64GB . Under this kind of specs, Redmi Note 4 advanced version has better price.
