Xiaomi’s 8th Anniversary Edition Coming Along With Mi 7

Xiaomi has already managed to launch several smartphones this year. Each of them is great and designed for a certain niche. But the annual flagship of the company has not been launched yet. The Xiaomi Mi 7 is said to come at the end of May with a shipping date of June. According to the previous leaks, it is going to be another bangs screen smartphone with the latest hardware and overhauled software. But today another leak made the net go crazy. It turns out there is another smartphone prepared for the launch along with the Mi 7. It’s the Xiaomi’s 8^th Anniversary Edition.

Generally, Xiaomi is called Chinese Apple. But this manufacturer moves forward with bigger steps than the Cupertino-based manufacturer. On the other hand, Xiaomi adopts the newest technologies more successfully. And if taking into account its dominant position in the Chinese and Indian markets (the largest markets around the globe), it benefits more. Say, the Apple’s 10^th Anniversary iPhone, the iPhone X is the world’s only phone supporting 3D face recognition technology in face of Face ID. In this sense, the biggest highlight of the upcoming Xiaomi’s 8^th Anniversary Edition is going to be the same 3D facial recognition feature.

Both models, the Xiaomi Mi 7, as well as the Xiaomi’s 8th Anniversary Edition, will be using bangs screens. But there should be some differences in the size of the notches. Apart from this, they should be packed with a Snapdragon 845 chip and an 8GB of RAM.

However, it’s thought the 3D structured light may become a killer for the Xiaomi’s 8^th Anniversary Edition. There is still a technical gap between the facial recognition used in the Android camp and Apple’s Face ID. so due to Qualcomm’s software adjustment program, there will be a delay in Android’s structured light facial recognition and this will make protagonist wait until the Q3. If Xiaomi can release a phone equipped with a 3D structured light at the end of this month, it will be the first 3D face recognition Android phone.
