ZTE is Going to Launch More Folding Smartphones Like Axon M

The world’s first folding smartphone gone on a mass production is the ZTE Axon M. it has been launched at the end of last year, and we are waiting for this amazing phone to hit the Chinese market (where it should succeed more) on January 16 (or 20). Many do not think this handset will become popular. But ZTE is world’s largest smartphone makers and it won’t invest too much in a project that is going to fail. Moreover, today Jeff Yee, VP Technology Planning, and Partnerships at ZTE said in an interview the Axon M has got a positive feedback from buyers, and the company is going to improve this technology in the future. Thus ZTE is going to come with more folding smartphones.

The ZTE Axon M is the world’ first smartphone using a folding design. It comes with two identical screens at 5.2 inches and Full HD resolution connected by a hinge. It allows users to use it in a regular way or open the phone at 180 degrees and use it as a small flat computer/tablet. Thus the selling point of the ZTE Axon M is not the dual-screen design, but the multi-tasking just like the same experience on a regular PC. This simply means each of those screens can run apps separately without affecting another screen. We can even think of it as a large-screen tablet, but there will be a cut off in the middle when viewing the same content.

The phone is impressive even when it comes to the hardware. The ZTE Axon M is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM (the US variant comes with a 4+64GB memory combination), 20MP rear camera, and a 3180mAh capacity battery.

Moreover, Yee added ‘they will eventually make some really flexible folding devices, and over time, we might add more and more amazing features.’ In other words, the company thinks this can become a mainstream, and it wants to be the creator of that trend.
