Meizu 16-Series Models to Support On-Screen Fingerprint Identification

There were too many speculations concerning the Meizu 15. The stir around it was conditioned by the fact it had been designing by the company CEO himself. A couple of months ago, three Meizu 15 series handsets were announced. Actually, they are very attractive models, but the hardware specs they come with don’t allow us to categorize them as high-end smartphones. This is going to be fixed soon. In the Meizu community, some netizens asked a few questions Huang Zhang, including whether the Meizu 16 series will be equipped with on-screen fingerprint identification scanners. He responded saying there won’t be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 version like the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and the VIVO NEX A. Moreover, he issued a statement saying the screen ratio won’t yield the Xiaomi Mi 8 and iPhone X. this simply means, the screen ratio will be equal or higher to/than 84%. Of course, it is not going to compete with the VIVO NEX with a 91.24% screen ratio. But it can beat Xiaomi models.

Apart from this, the Meizu 16 will have two versions. One of them will be using Samsung’s custom screen (but not curved) and be packed with a Snapdragon 845 flagship chip. Previously, we have heard the regular version of the Meizu 16 will come with a 5.6-inch screen, while the 16 Plus should sport a 6.1-inch screen. On the forehead, they will carry a 20MP camera coupled with a rainbow soft beauty algorithm. A 12MP dual-camera should be located on the back. And … both models will support on-screen fingerprint recognition.

In addition, the operating system was upgraded to Flyme 7.5 with better overall screen interaction. Super mBack is upgraded to hover mode without affecting the screen view.

As for pricing, the Meizu 16’s 6/8GB RAM + 128GB model should cost 3398/3598 yuan, while the 16 Plus’ 6/8GB RAM +128/256GB ROM is assumed to come at 3598/3798/4288 yuan. They will be announced in August.
