Official: Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Unleashed

Along with the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro was announced. It’s the third from the sixth generation Redmi line models. Moreover, this is the first Redmi handset sporting a notch screen like the iPhone X. Due to this and other key features, the Redmi 6 Pro is called a new thousand-yuan flagship.

Our protagonist sports a 5.84-inch screen, which stands out due to a number of impressive parameters, including a 2280 × 1080 resolution, a 19:9 aspect ratio, a 500nit brightness, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, a color gamut coverage of 84% NTSC, and many more. As for hardware, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is packed with a Snapdragon 625 chip, which is paired with a 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB), and a 4000mAh battery providing a long life and supporting 5V/2A charging. Though this is an entry-level smartphone, it is great in terms of connectivity. Besides the 4G support and 2+1 slot design, it also comes with an infrared remote control, dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack, etc.

The next selling point of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is the 12MP + 5MP AI dual-camera with an aperture of f/2.2, a 1.25-micron pixel size, PDAF phase focus support, HDR mode, AI portrait mode, AI beauty, and 1080p video recording option. As for the front shooter, it comes with a 5MP camera that supports AI portrait mode, AI smart beauty, AI face unlock, etc.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro runs on MIUI9, which comes with a built-in AI voice assistant. Along with the number of advantages coming our way from the latter, this phone also supports pseudo-base station intelligent recognition, price comparison, photo translation, and so on.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro’s 3+32GB variant is priced at 999 yuan ($152), while the 4+64GB model costs 1299 yuan ($198). The phone will go on sale on June 26.
