Review of ELEPHONE EleCam Explorer Elite 4K action camera with photo and 3 video presentation!

I wanted some time now to get for myself one of these action cameras. Not that I’m some guy that loves extreme sports or something like this, but I wanted something good for the summer, when swimming in the Greek ocean or when walking in the nature at some forest. Because here in Greece the customs search everything very well, I had also to find it from an EU warehouse, so I will not have to pay any extra fees. All these ended up at the EU warehouse of Coolicool, where I found at a very good price the ELEPHONE EleCam Explorer Elite 4K action camera.

The ELEPHONE EleCam Explorer Elite 4K action camera came to me with DHL from Germany to be more exact, since there is one of the EU warehouses Coolicool has. The package that came to me, was well protected. Inside I found a beautiful white box with red lines, giving a very elegant look. Opening the box, inside I found two smaller boxes. The one box contained the camera with the waterproof case and the other box contained a bunch of extra accessories that one might need for his camera to attach it wherever you might think of! I will tell you about them later on.

Inside the second box, as you can see and in the video, except from the camera and the waterproof case, you can find 1 x Waterproof Cover, 1 x 3M Adhesive Tapes, 1 x Cleaning Cloth, 1 x Bandages, 1 x Bicycle Stand, 1 x Accessory Seat (1), 1 x Accessory Seat (2), 1 x Steel Rope, 1 x Ribbon, 1 x Fixing Base, 1 x USB Data Cable, 1 x Helmet Seats, 1 x Adaptor, 1 x Adaptor Stand (1), 1 x Adaptor (2), 1 x Adaptor Stand (3) and a manual in english!

As you can see the second box contains everything that some might want from its camera to try it out under any circumstances! From replacement of the waterproof case of the door, special adhesive tapes, even rope to attach your camera at any peculiar place or stand!

Let us have a look at the camera now. The ELEPHONE EleCam Explorer Elite 4K action camera is really very small! With dimensions just 29.8  x 59.2 x 41mm and a weight of just 0.55kg with the battery, you can understand how small and tiny the camera is. As we look at the camera, we can see on the left side two buttons for up/down, while on the right side you can find a micro USB port, slot for the Micro SD card and a Micro HDMI. The ELE EleCam Explorer Elite can take up to 32GB of external SD card.

At the bottom side we can find a Li-ion battery of 1050mAh 5V / 1A. When the camera came to me was half full. Just to know, you will need about 2 hours to fully charge the battery. When is fully charge you will have about 75 mins of video at 1080p. Also know that when using the WiFi of the camera, the battery drains fast, so be careful.

The waterproof case will be very handy to you, as you can use it not only in underwater activities, but also in many other things. The case can be attached to couple of bases coming with the camera, in order to use it in multiple places. For example if you want to use the camera as dash camera at your car, you will need the waterproof case.

Now that we have seen the camera in general, let us see and the specs of it. The ELEPHONE EleCam Explorer Elite 4K action camera is an upgrades version of the simple Explorer. It comes with the NTK96660 SoC, which has the ability to shoot video in 4k (3840 x 2160) at 24FPS, 2K (2560 x 1440) at 30FPS, 1920 x 1080 at 60fps and 1280 x 720 at 120fps.

As you can see in the images above, at the back side of the camera we find a TFT screen of 2.0inch with screen analysis of 960 x 240. The screen is used only to see what you are shooting at and surf around the menu of the camera. In order to do so you will have to use the up/down buttons on the right side, since the screen is not a touch screen.

The camera contains for CMOS sensor a Sony IMX 078 (12MP). IF you want to shoot underwater, there is a special option at the menu of the camera that when is activated, it enhances the light and can shoot better underwater. I have a shot underwater later on to see. Also with the waterproof case you can go down to 30 meters deep without any problem. The camera has the ability to shoot with an angle of 170°/120°/ 90°. You can control the various menu of the camera, either from the camera itself or you can use the app that comes with the camera. You can download it form Google Playstore and is the Explorer Elite_v2. The app is using the WiFi connection created by the camera, to connect your mobile with it. The WiFi is activated in the camera by pressing twice the button up. When is activated and connected with your mobile, you can change a bunch of settings, transfer the files saved in your camera or see what the camera is watching at.

As I told you, I have also tested to see how is working underwater. I guess there is always a fear when a electronic device goes underwater, since water and gadgets are not really good friends. In this case the waterproof case works perfectly, without any problem as you can see in the video below. I have also used the camera as dash camera, and also seems to work very good. The camera can be used with your pc or as a security camera, since if you activate the motion option, is activated when it captures motion in front of it.

The ELEPHONE EleCam Explorer Elite 4K action camera seems to be a very good camera, at least for it money. If you want for example to get a Xiaomi Yi 4K camera with all these stuffs that the ELE camera came with, you will have to pay almost triple 354.99$! The camera is sold at EU warehouse of Coolicool at 89.99$. If you don’t care for customs, you can search it and elsewhere. But if you do and you are on the search of a good camera for the summer, buy it now and it will come at you with DHL, fast and without any extra payments!
