CAMERA

The Redmi pro comes with a dual camera setup which has 2 different camera sensors, a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor with a 5-lens module, an f/2.0 aperture and PDAF autofocus & a 5MP Samsung sensor for the secondary depth-sensing camera. On the back it also has a dual tone LED flash that is placed between the 2 lenses. On the front, it features a 5MP camera with a f2.0 aperture and a 86 degree wide angle lens. Xiaomi did a great job by bringing in the dual camera setup. To explain, the main 13MP camera at the back takes the shot while the additional camera captures the depth of field. So it enables the camera to produce bokeh effect much like the DSLR cameras and the interface lets the user to select the aperture size which indirectly changes the blur amount. The focus on the camera is really fast. Below we have some indoor camera samples followed by the bokeh and outdoor ones. In low light, you can see there is some amount of noise and little loss in the contrast.

It can be seen that outdoor shots have good sharpness and contrast but there’s a unusual thing, the camera automatically turns on the HDR if the screen is dark. Overall it can be said that the camera quality has improved over the previous Xiaomi phones but still needs improvement in some fields. P.S:- The images are not in the original resolution.

Bokeh Shot

In outdoor ,the camera performs really good. Changing the aperture size on the camera app creates a bokeh effect but the amount of light stays the same and you can notice the change in the blur style too.The above 2 images are with aperture size 5.6 and 0.95.

As claimed by Xiaomi, with the 2.5ghz deca core X25, 4GB of RAM and a Mali-T880 GPU; this phone is indeed the most powerful Redmi ever. Redmi pro scores 91,719 points on the Antutu benchmark. Though its not the best but with MIUI 8 launching soon, the numbers will sure go up.

DESIGN

Design wise, the Redmi Pro is really a class. The Redmi Pro features a full metal unibody construction with a brushed metal finish, and has a 5.5-inch 2.5D Full HD OLED display. This is the first Xiaomi phone that went OLED, giving more vivid and pleasing viewing experience. At this price point, Redmi Pro sure has an upperhand in the display segment. The antenna lines on the back is a new thing to the design category of the Xiaomi Redmi. The metal on the Redmi Pro has a rough trimming but the back shines quite noticeably.

BATTERY AND OS

To power the device , the Xiaomi Redmi Pro is equipped with a huge 4050 mAh battery in a relatively slim. 8.15mm body, so two-day battery life should be standard, as usual with the latest Xiaomi handsets. And it comes with MIUI 7 which is a customized Android 6.0, which is upgradable to MIUI 8 as soon as its launched. The MIUI 8 will add some new promising features that the previous one lacked.
