ZTE Axon M Sporting a Folding Design Will Launch On January 20

In 2017, the trendiest smartphone feature is the full-screen technology. Almost all manufacturers have managed to launch their own phones packed with a bezel-less display. However, there are exceptions as well. Say, ZTE, Sony, Motorola, and a few other companies haven’t launched such devices. Do not take into account the Nubia line, as it’s considered as a separate division. But seems ZTE has moved forward and it is coming with an experimental model named the ZTE Axon M. We have already talked about this handset when it visited TENAA. Today, it became known the manufacturer will launch it on January 20.

ZTE Axon M

This is one of the world’ first smartphones using a folding design. There are two identical screens at 5.2 inches and Full HD resolution connected by a hinge. So when the phone is opened at 180 degrees, you can take it as a small flat computer/tablet. But this is not the only advantage of the folding design coming our way from the ZTE Axon M. It supports multi0tasking just like the same experience on a regular PC. Thus each of screens can run apps separately without affecting each other. As said, you can display the same content, but there will be a cut off in the middle.

As for the hardware, the ZTE Axon M is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM (the US variant comes with a 4+64GB memory combination), 20MP rear camera, and a 3180mAh capacity battery.

The company has not announced the price tag yet, but we think it will be around 5000 yuan ($725) just like the original version.
