DxOMark Announced Xiaomi Pocophone F1 Camera Score
This morning, the well-known camera evaluation agency DxOMark released the camera review article of the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 and announced its camera rating.
After testing multiple options such as exposure, color, etc, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 got a final score of 91. Thus, it has identical scores as the Smartisan Nut Pro 2S. But what’s more interesting, it yields the iPhone 8 only by a single point.
The Pocophone F1 is a smartphone launched by Xiaomi for overseas markets last year. It was released as the world’s cheapest Snapdragon 845 phone, which has been loved by consumers a lot. As the appearance of this phone is similar to that of the Xiaomi Mi 8, it is often used to be compared with the original Mi 8. However, because of the reduced camera configuration, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is not as good as the Xiaomi Mi 8 in camera ratings.
The main camera of the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 uses a 12MP pixel sensor with a unit size of 1/2.55 inches, a 1.4μm pixel size, and an f/1.9 aperture. The sub-camera uses a 5MP lens with an aperture of f/2.0.
DxOMark claims that the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 provides pleasant color, accurate exposure, and excellent autofocus when shooting regular photos, but the HDR feature is slightly unfortunate, and at the same time the light is less likely to lose detail. In the portrait mode, the Pocophone F1 also has occasional edge calculation errors, and some background areas are not blurred.
In addition, the Xiaomi POCOPHONE F1 does not have a telephoto lens. So it is only possible to shoot distant objects by digital zoom. Imaging is good in bright light, but you will see some loss of detail in complex scenes.
In terms of video, the phone’s advantages are the excellent autofocus, good tracking, and effective stabilization system.
