Sony Xperia XZ2 Launch Date in China Disclosed

We have heard Sony will launch a few new full-screen phones packing a Snapdragon 845 chip long ago. They were announced, as scheduled. As you remember, the Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact debuted at MWC 2018. But there was no hint at the Chinese launch date. According to the latest news, Sony will hold a small XZ2 B2B communication meeting in Hong Kong, China this month. But this doesn’t mean both models will arrive in the market.

As the source claims, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact that comes with the same Snapdragon 845 chip but a smaller screen won’t release in China ever. This is regrettable, but we have what we have.

Moreover, it’s become known the Sony Xperia XZ2 will get some adjustments for the Chinese market. Say, its memory will be upgraded to 6GB from 4GB. The former one has been leaked on a spy screenshot showcasing 260K points at AnTuTu. Thus it’s way better than a 4GB variant’s performance. However, still, it will sport a 5.7-inch full-screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The rest of features include an IP68 rating, wireless charging, double-glass + metal frame design, 19MP camera with a CMOS of 1/2.3”, a single pixel of 1.22μm, the industry’s first 4K HDR video support, and 960fps slow-motion shooting mode, 5MP front camera, and Android 8.0 out of the box.

At last, it’s said the Sony Xperia XZ2 Chinese version is scheduled to be listed in April at a price tag of 5599 yuan ($883). Thus this is a bit lower than the foreign price of 6200 yuan ($978). But this pricing is not competitive in comparison to brands such as Xiaomi and Huawei that always come with the best offers.
